Today is February 21st, and it is the anniversary of Nina Simone’s birthday.  She played the piano like the keys were just natural extensions of her fingers.  Her technical abilities were as good as her interpretation of notes and phrases.  She knew how to communicate through song.  She was one of the greatest musicians to ever live.  Watch her story unfold on Netflix in one of their early attempts at original theatrical distribution and 2016 Academy Award Nominee, “What Happened, Miss Simone?”
